Description

introducing the alba light blue jeans - the perfect combination of comfort and style. crafted with a blend of organic cotton and elastane (since 100% cotton denims are stiff and loose form easily), these jeans provide a stretchy, day-to-day shape that holds its form and flatters a variety of body shapes.

sustainable jeans production is very complex and requires a lot of know-how. this is why JAN' N' JUNE decided that collaboration beats competition! together with Dawn Denim they have developed two styles that combine JAN ’N JUNE's signature and the high quality and sustainability standards of Dawn Denim.

Care

caring for organic cotton

can be washed by hand or with a washing machine (no warmer than 30 degrees if you want to make sure it does not shrink). you should not dry your cotton piece in a tumble dryer as it can shrink. you can remove stains with stain removers and iron as you please. important: never iron velvet! to iron velvet pieces, turn inside out.

what is organic cotton?

cotton is a true fabric classic. it can be worn as a t-shirt, socks, jeans and much more. cotton grows soft and fluffy around the seeds of cotton plants. it does not contain any synthetic compounds and is a very old fabric that has already been used many years ago.

why love organic cotton?

cotton is super versatile - from a simple t-shirt to knit pants this fabric can do it all! a true classic than can easily be dyed and taken care of.

organic cotton production

1kg of organic cotton needs 8500l of water vs. conventional cotton needing 11500l. the conventional cotton industry is not a very pretty business. make sure to buy as organic as possible - organic cotton uses less water, pesticides, fertilizers, defoliants and growth regulators and is not grown in a monoculture.

Production

1. design

JAN' N' JUNE founders anna and jula still do all of the design work themselves. for this collaboratation they teamed up with the team from DAWN DENIM to create these beautiful jeans. the design process takes place in germany.

2. raw material

since the average cotton production is a pretty dirty business, JAN' N' JUNE only uses organic and recycled cotton. the cotton is grown in china.

3. yarn production

no matter which fibers we are talking about, they have to be spun into a yarn for further production steps.

the yarn production takes place in china.

4. fabric production

the next step of the supply chain is to weave the yarn into a fabric. the fabric production is located in guangzhou, china.

5. manufacturing

that's where all the magic happens!
the manufacturers receive the patterns, fabrics, and other components like buttons or zippers and make them into a garment.

this piece is made in vietnam.

a bottle of wine, hamburg, summer 2013. that’s when it all started with the question “why is there no stylish, sustainable, and affordable fashion label?”. anna and jula couldn’t find the kind of fashion label they were looking for, so they simply decided to start their own. and all that while living in three different countries. piece of cake right? today jan 'n june is a sustainable fashion success story. all their items are fairly and transparently produced in portugal and poland, using only sustainable materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, lyocell, and many more. each and every one of their final items are provided with a qr-code showing its eco-id, from the supply chain to final production.
