a visit to our atelier

our langstrasse store is right in the heart of kreis 4 and has everything you need for a little gift - home&living products, beauty and wellness products and baby/kids items. what many people don't know: we also have our little atelier there where the talented laura practices her craft. 

the origin story

the concept of the atelier at collab was born with the idea that we would like to offer our customers the service of repairing collab clothes (or private ones) that they've purchased - all in the spirit of sustainability. we quickly realized that it is also worthwhile to create new products from clothes that we do not sell. perfect upcycling - giving old clothes new life and turning them into awesome new products.

meet laura

laura works in sales at collab pfingstweid, but mainly, she works in our atelier at collab langstrasse. laura is a trained tailor with expertise as a clothing technician. she brings her craftsmanship and creativity to the collab atelier, which we think is pretty cool! from mending orders to individual adjustments to creating her own products, laura can do it all. she particularly enjoys crafting new products from old fabric remnants, as it allows her creativity to flourish. being a mother herself, laura also appreciates the opportunity to design children's items, such as 'nuschi's', and to cater to customers' needs.

unser laden in der langstrasse liegt mitten im kreis 4 und bietet alles, was man für ein kleines geschenk braucht - home&living-produkte, beauty- und wellnessprodukte sowie baby/kinderartikel. was viele nicht wissen: wir haben dort auch unser kleines atelier, in dem die talentierte laura ihr handwerk ausübt.

wie alles begann

die idee des ateliers im collab entstand mit dem gedanken, dass wir unseren kund*innen den service anbieten möchten, gekaufte collab-kleider (oder auch private) zu reparieren - ganz im sinne der nachhaltigkeit. wir haben schnell gemerkt, dass es sich auch lohnt, aus kleidern, die wir nicht verkaufen, neue produkte zu kreieren. ideales upcycling also - so können wir aus alter kleidung neue leben schaffen und andere tolle produkte daraus kreiren.

meet laura

laura arbeitet im verkauf im collab pfingstweid. hauptsächlich aber ist sie in unserem atelier im collab langstrasse tätig. laura ist nämlich gelernte schneiderin mit ausbildung zur bekleidungstechnikerin. ihr handwerk und ihre kreativität kann sie so im collab atelier einbringen, was wir ziemlich cool finden! von flickaufträgen zu individuellen anpassungen bis hin zur kreation von eigenprodukten. laura mag besonders, aus alten stoffresten neue produkte zu kreieren, da sie ihrer kreativität hierbei freien lauf lassen kann. da laura selbst mutter ist gefällt ihr auch, dass sie kinderartikel entwerfen darf - wie zum beispiel die beliebten nuschi's und sie dabei auf bedürfnisse von kund*innen eingehen kann.
