the matcha whisk holder (in japanese chasen yasume) is used to keep the shape of the matcha whisk. with the help of form, better air circulation is enabled and mold formation on the matcha whisk is avoided.

after cleaning the matcha whisk (chasen), place it on the dry and let it "rest" (yasume in japanese). no pressure should be exerted on the whisk. carefully remove from the holder for the next use so that no struts break.

do not clean the spoon (chashaku) with water, but clean it with a dry cloth. store in a dry place.
