these keychains are made out of moroccan ribbons called sfifa. originally they are used for decorating traditional kaftans.

developing from ‘sabra’ to ‘sfifa’ the threads are transformed step by step into keychains. the threads are braided into ribbons on the outskirts of marrakesh using an antique machine.
the keychains are produced by zahra from the women’s association al kawtar in marrakech. together with yoomee the colour and design combinations are developed. each keychain can be assembled individually, using different carabiners, tags and mini tags.

for every keychain sold - we give something back to al kawtar.
at the end of each year  we give a donation to one of there projects.

YOOMEE was founded by florence in 2014 whilst she was travelling around the world. during her travels she met many people and got to know their stories and handcraft. this was her inspiration to start her own brand. today YOOMEE works closely with a women's association in marrakech, morocco for women with physical disabilities. through this work, the association can also offer physiotherapy to people outside of the association. YOOMEE is all about handcraft - that is also why a lot of YOOMEE products are inspired directly by the craft of indiviual artisans. this is how the idea of the keytags started. YOOMEE works with a lot of left over materials to ensure that there is no over production. all of their leather products are made using left over leather only - this makes each bag series a very limited edition! 

YOOMEE and collab are connection through a deep friendship between the founders of both brands. for many years YOOMEE and collab shared an office - and today you can find the YOOMEE flagship store in the collab pfingstweid store. there are many shared projects between us and YOOMEE and we are super happy to work alongside YOOMEE. the slogan "better together" really comes to life with this match :)
